SUMMARY
The Ambulatory Imaging RN is a key part of the patient care and imaging workflow. Nurses are trained and competency-validated in specialized skills including medi-port access, MRI safety, and contrast reaction management. This role provides strong work–life balance, clinical variety, and meaningful professional growth through exposure to multiple ambulatory imaging sites, diverse procedures, and continuous skill development in outpatient care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support daily imaging operations (rooming, turnover, stocking, and patient flow)
- Screen patients for CT and MRI procedures
- Establish IV access and access/de-access medi-ports
- Administer and monitor medications for imaging and cardiac studies
- Monitor and treat contrast reactions and other patient events
- Support MRI patients with implanted cardiac devices
- Perform point-of-care testing (blood glucose, pregnancy tests)
- Respond to patient emergencies and coordinate
