As a Nuclear Medical Technologist, you play an important part in high-quality nuclear medicine procedures needed to deliver quality care to our patients. Performs all diagnostic exams, quality assurance procedures, the receipt, administration, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals, and records all data on the appropriate computerized information system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes a safe and secure environment for patients.
- Maintains the radiopharmacy and radiopharmacy information system.
- Ensures that nuclear imaging equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Responsible for on-call coverage of the modality.
- Consults with Nuclear Imaging Radiologist regarding procedures.
- Follows departmental radiation safety procedures.
- Follows departmental image acquisition/analysis, RIS/PACS procedures.
- Responsible for back-up Nuclear Cardiology Technologists as determined by the Chief Technologist, Non-Invasive Cardiology and Nuclear Imaging.
- Attends hospital and departmental meetings and in-service training.
- Excellent customer service behaviours will be expected, and employees will be held accountable for the same.
- Assists the Med Physicist with QA/QC as required by the NYSDOH and American College of Radiology.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine or completion of a certification program is required.
- Compassionate, warm, and patient-focused.
- Strong computer and communication skills.
- NYS License in Radiologic Technology in the area of Nuclear Medicine required OR must hold a NYS permit and obtain licensure within 6 months of hire.
- AART and/or NMTCB Certification within 3 months of hire.
- Certificate of Registration as a Radiologic Technologist, limited to the practice of Nuclear Medicine within 6 months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine preferred.
- 2 years of experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE
$38.00 - $51.50
