SUMMARY: Performs medically prescribed diagnostic echocardiographic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics, utilizing various modes and techniques, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, M-Mode, color flow, pulse wave, and continuous wave Doppler, in accordance with accepted protocols.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to appropriately determine the clinical question being addressed.
- Reviews the patient's chart and history.
- Refers to the physician, as needed.
- Utilizes imaging protocols established by the American Society of Echocardiography, ICAEL Echo Standards.
- Enters patient demographics on the ultrasound machine.
- Utilizes proper patient positioning techniques to obtain optimal image.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor’s Degree in Ultrasound is required.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior Sonographer experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $36.00 - $50.00
