Salary up to £30,400 to £38,000 per year (dependant on experience) plus a strong benefits package and career progression opportunities.

Our team is building a dynamic network to meet the changing demands for electricity and increasingly, renewable electricity – safely, securely and sustainably in the communities we serve.

The role of Cost Controller sits within SPT Commercial and Performance, reporting to the Commercial and Performance Manager. In this role, you will support the management and reporting of internal time writing and agency costs. You will also assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts along with a number of monthly commercial reports whilst ensuring compliance and key governance processes are followed within the business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support management of the internal time writing hours for SPT employees, ensuring all employees update information in required timescales.
  • Provide reporting, including robust variance analysis, on time writing to senior management.
  • Manage agency costs payment process for SPT Major Projects, highlight any variances and issues with the information.
  • Preparation of monthly commercial and governance reports including scorecard and performance reports.
  • Working closely with Control, prepare agency transfer journals.
  • Liaise with 3rd party agency providers over billing issues.
  • Support cost forecast process on c700 employees and agency.
  • Provide support across SPT Business.
  • Update Internal cost information for monthly reporting processes.
  • Review and update cost control processes.
  • Prepare and validate Inter-business journals ahead of submission to Control.
  • Provide training on internal cost processes when required.

What you’ll bring:

  • Financial Accounting Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience of Excel.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP/NAMS/PM/PPM.
  • Experience in a Financial Role.
  • Awareness of SPEN inter-business relationships.
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with other individuals, departments and businesses.
  • Analytical capabilities and experience of working with large volumes of data in a reporting environment.
  • Flexible and target orientated.
  • Organized and dynamic.
