Key Responsibilities
- Drive Data Strategy: develop and execute therapeutic area‑specific data strategies that align with clinical, scientific, and translational goals.
- Lead Advanced Analytics: design and execute complex analytical frameworks leveraging multi‑modal data sources across real‑world data (RWD), clinical trials, and operational domains.
- Enable Innovation: act as a thought leader on data access, integration, and interoperability approaches to build a future‑ready healthcare data ecosystem.
- Collaborate Globally: partner closely with data scientists, data stewards, and external vendors to translate complex business needs into clear, technical data solutions.
- Advance Data Standards: contribute directly to enterprise‑wide data standardization, metadata harmonization, and data asset definitions to maximize data reuse and accessibility.

Requirements
- Advanced Education: a Master’s degree or PhD in Epidemiology, Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or a related technical field.
- Proven Research Experience: 6+ years of experience conceptualizing and delivering real‑world data (RWD) studies or using historical clinical trial data within a research or healthcare setting.
- Deep Methodological Expertise: a strong foundation in pharmacoepidemiology principles, observational study designs, and advanced methods to control for confounding (e.g., Propensity Score Matching or Inverse Probability Weighting).
- Technical & Machine Learning Proficiency: advanced skills in R or Python, along with experience applying machine learning or artificial intelligence models to complex clinical or prognostic datasets.
- Strategic Communication & Mentorship: the ability to explain highly complex statistical concepts clearly, translate business objectives into structured analytical frameworks, and act as a supportive and positive influence on peers through active mentoring and upskilling, demonstrating the ability to influence key stakeholders by delivering clear, data‑driven narratives that effectively drive decision‑making.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as CDISC, OMOP, or FHIR.
- Experience working with malignancy, hematology, or oncology datasets.
Location
Role based onsite at our Welwyn, United Kingdom office. Hybrid work structure with a fixed number of onsite days per week. Relocation assistance is not available.
