As a Real-World Data Scientist, you will join our Real-World & Clinical Data Strategy (RWCDS) team, where we transform complex data into actionable evidence that shapes the future of healthcare. You will play a pivotal role in powering enhanced decision-making across Product Development and beyond, ensuring that real-world insights drive scientific rigor and drug development innovation. This is an opportunity to contribute to a future-ready data ecosystem that directly impacts patient lives through personalized healthcare.
You will be responsible for generating high-impact insights from real-world data (RWD) to inform clinical development, regulatory strategy, and healthcare decision-making. Your focus will be on selecting fit-for-purpose data, designing robust observational studies, providing deep scientific interpretation, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams in the Pharma organization.
- Lead Evidence Generation: Design and execute observational studies from protocol development to final interpretation and dissemination to address critical clinical, operational, and regulatory questions.
- Scientific Design & Strategy: Perform data landscaping and/or feasibility assessments and determine fit for purpose RWD sources to support evidence generation across various therapeutic areas.
- Drive Data Excellence: Contribute to/and collaborate on data cleaning, descriptive analytics, and exploratory evidence generation within established data science processes and FAIR principles.
- Innovate Methodology: Build and apply expertise in novel data types and statistical methods, including advanced analytics and specialized trial designs.
- Collaborate Globally: Partner across the broader Pharma organization to support the responsible and strategic use of RWD at scale and foster a culture of continuous knowledge sharing.
You are a scientifically-minded researcher with a passion for healthcare data. You possess the rigor to work independently and the strategic agility to solve complex problems within a global, collaborative environment.
Educational Background: You hold a PhD or a Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Pharmacoeconomics, or Health Economics. We also welcome candidates with a Medical (MD) or Pharmacy degree who have completed a conversion degree in Data Science.
Applied Experience: You are early in your career (ideally recently completed a PhD, Post-doc, or internship) with experience specifically in designing observational studies and working with healthcare/medical data.
Technical Proficiency: You ideally have hands-on experience using statistical software such as R, SAS, or Python for rigorous data analysis.
Critical Thinking: You demonstrate independent thinking —the ability to supervise yourself, write protocols/research plans, and interpret complex results rather than just managing data flows.
Communication: You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, impactful language for diverse stakeholders.
Preferred: Experience in epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, statistics, HEOR, or working within Agile project teams and regulated environments is preferred.
