The Opportunity

You will work within an assay development project team, molecular team or within the reagents group within R&D, assisting in the development of multiple assays. You will be responsible for execution and completion of your own experiments, ensuring compliance with GLP standards. Your responsibilities entail:

  • Experimentation: Execute and complete your own experiments, ensuring adherence to GLP standards.
  • Reach team goals: Align experiments with project and team objectives, presenting your findings effectively.
  • Research excellence: Highlight and address any out-of-trend results to continuously improve protocols and experiments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and plan small-scale experiments aligning with project goals.
  • Deliver clear analysis and conclusions from experiments within set deadlines.
  • Assist in designing complex experiments.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, adhering strictly to defined protocols.
  • Develop and document procedures (SOPs/Quality Events) for your immediate work area.
  • Train team members on necessary procedures.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of Design Control, H&S, biosafety, risks, COSHH, and compliance requirements.
  • Act as a reviewer for laboratory notebooks, ensuring records are accurately maintained.

Who you are

  • Degree in Science.
  • Proven experience working in laboratory environments.
  • Confidence in operating with minimal supervision.
  • Strong computer literacy and data analysis skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and numeracy skills and proactive approach in identifying and executing laboratory tasks.

Location and Recruitment Process

As this position is part of a global organization, international business travel may occasionally be required. The role will initially be based in Stirlingshire, Central Scotland or Maxim Park, Motherwell, with a permanent move to Motherwell in mid-2026.
