We act as the bridge between Roche business functions and our suppliers, delivering value through productivity, speed, risk management, sustainability, innovative solutions, and streamlined buying experiences.

The Opportunity:

As the AI Governance Manager within Global Procurement, you are the steward of how AI delivers value, operates responsibly, and scales sustainably across the procurement ecosystem. Reporting to the Head of Digital Procurement Management & Governance, you establish and manage the governance framework that enables trusted, compliant, and high-performing AI adoption, monitor AI performance and measure its ROI and business impact.

You act as a leader who ensures that AI solutions, both custom-built AI and Agentic solutions, as well as “Everyday AI” capabilities, are aligned with Procurement’s objectives, adhere to relevant policies and ethical standards, and consistently deliver measurable ROI. You will work in close partnership with other Digital leaders, Capability Leads, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to embed AI into the operating model in a controlled, value-driven, and scalable way.

  • AI & Value Governance: Define and own the Procurement AI value and governance framework, ensuring initiatives are anchored in clear business outcomes, strategic intent, and measurable ROI, and meet relevant Roche standards, policies and directives. Monitor governance framework compliance and value realization across the portfolio.
  • Policy, Ethics, Performance & Compliance: Establish AI “rules of engagement,” including ethical standards and human-in-the-loop autonomy. Own metrics and oversee performance across accuracy, adoption, and value delivery. Ensure all AI solutions are compliant, auditable, and aligned with Procurement policies and risk frameworks.
  • Portfolio Alignment & Strategic Fit: Support the alignment of the AI portfolio with Procurement priorities and Capability roadmaps (Sourcing, Contracting, Category Management, Negotiation, and SRM), contributing to the identification and prioritization of high-impact use cases that deliver long-term strategic value.
  • Stakeholder Engagement, Adoption & Change Management: Support engagement with senior stakeholders to help align AI priorities, investment discussions, and value realization objectives. Contribute to the adoption of AI by facilitating the effective integration and day-to-day coexistence of native digital solutions and AI applications, supported by appropriate change management activities.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with the wider digital procurement team, IT, Legal, Compliance, Business Process Management, and Analytics & Insights to embed AI governance within the broader Demand-to-Pay ecosystem and data landscape.

Who you are:

You bring a strong combination of strategic thinking, structured problem-solving, and hands-on experience in AI and Procurement. You are passionate about translating emerging technologies into measurable business value, and you thrive in shaping, governing, and overseeing impactful initiatives in complex environments.

  • Strategic & Structured Thinker: You take a rigorous, structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making, with the ability to define clear frameworks, prioritize effectively, and drive outcomes aligned to business value and ROI.
  • AI & Digital Expertise: Strong understanding of AI and its application in enterprise environments. Able to assess opportunities, risks, and performance, and translate them into actionable strategies and governance mechanisms.
  • Procurement Domain Knowledge: Solid experience in Procurement (e.g., Sourcing, Contracting, Category Management, SRM), with a clear understanding of processes, value drivers, and how digital and AI solutions can enhance them.
  • Leadership & Steering Capability: Proven ability to lead and steer complex topics in a matrix organization, influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across functions without formal authority.
  • Business Translation & Requirements: Skilled in translating business needs into clear requirements and structured use cases, bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure solutions deliver real impact.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communicator with the ability to convey complex topics in a clear, concise, and compelling way, building trust and driving adoption across all levels of the organization.

Experience & Education: Significant experience in Procurement, Digital, or Consulting roles. Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
