Position: Process Technician – Process Engineering team (12‑month contract, possibility of extension)
Opportunity: You will work closely with the sensor manufacture and packaging teams and will become highly skilled in all aspects of manufacturing, including line operation & packaging, processes, and procedures. You will diagnose product and process issues quickly and effectively using a logical approach, support and drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the highest levels of quality and productivity. You will analyse manufacturing data and conduct product/process testing to ensure CTQs are met, and update documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and BMs. This is an on‑site role based at our Athena Motherwell location, with approximately 70% of time spent at our Bathgate site.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with manufacturing technicians and engineers to become highly competent in sensor manufacture line operation, processes, and procedures.
- Support monitoring of product and process data using statistical analysis techniques.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively using a methodical approach and report progress in a structured way.
- Conduct CTQ testing and material/product analysis.
- Investigate and resolve non‑conformances and help develop robust OCAPs and preventative measures.
- Support NPD projects through transfer of pilot work to high‑volume manufacture.
- Support validation activities and completion of validation documentation per business needs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through engagement of the production team on shift.
- Ensure highest levels of quality and compliance.
- Lead/support change‑control updates to manufacturing documentation.
Qualifications:
- Process Excellence Yellow or Green belt (additional advantage).
- Preferably degree qualified or relevant experience.
- Experience with rotary converting and/or reel‑to‑reel printing (rotary screen/flexographic, etc.) (additional advantage).
- Knowledge of statistical analysis methods/techniques.
Requirements:
- GMP experience.
- Hands‑on Process Technician experience, preferably in medical device industry.
- Experience optimizing product and processes.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Team player and accountable for manufacturing challenges.
- Analyse production data and conduct process/product analysis to ensure CTQs are met.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and sense of urgency.
- Detail‑oriented, ensuring highest levels of quality and productivity daily.
