The Bagger provides excellent customer service by efficiently bagging purchases at checkout. This individual provides the highest level of quality service by creating a pleasant and friendly atmosphere and treating each and every customer and associate like one of the family!
This position starts at $15.00 - $17.56 / hour.
Minimum Qualifications- Must be passionate about people and committed to customer service excellence!
- Must be able to work as a team member and interact positively with customers.
- Must possess a high standard of integrity and reliability.
- Successful completion of e-learnings and department training programs.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to work a schedule based on the business needs of the store location.

- Promote the company image as a service-oriented operation where every associate will greet, assist, render efficient service and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, friendly, and business-like manner.
- Commit to the “Golden Rule” and work with management and fellow associates to build a strong customer service team.
- Assist customers in unloading their purchases onto the conveyor belt at the checkout (when and if applicable).
- Utilize all the techniques specified in training to properly bag customer orders.
- Carry/push groceries in a shopping cart to the customer’s vehicle, and assist loading groceries into the vehicle (when and if applicable).
- Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and other areas and return them to designated area, being sure to remove flyers and other debris.
- Notify customer service manager or assistant customer service manager of any problems: customer inquiries or complaints, potential security problems, shrink problems within the store, perishable overstock at check stand (returns), or any unusual problems or situations.
- Participate actively in controlling shrink (loss of profit), checking the bottom of carriages, shoplifting awareness, associate theft, and perishable overstock control.
- Keep work area clean and neat and replace cleaning and bagging supplies in the checkout lane.
- Ensure company standards of cleanliness, safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are achieved.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Service Clerks may be scheduled as Lot Attendants, with the following requirements:
- Proactively providing incredible customer service by offering to assist customers with their grocery purchases.
- Maintaining the appearance and safety of the parking lot, sidewalk, and lobby.
- Ensuring customers have easy access to shopping carts.
- Keeping shopping carts clean and dry, wiping them down in the snow or rain.
- Other duties as assigned by the management team.
