An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join the Children’s Commissioning Team, in the Placement Officer role.
As a Placement Officer you will play a critical role in finding and securing homes and services for children who require our care. You will carry a caseload of children for whom you will actively seek and match local services to meet their needs and outcomes. You will ensure that care is of a high quality, best value for money and available when a child needs it.
The role will require you to communicate with a range of professionals both inside and outside of the Local Authority. The Children’s Commissioning Team are in the process of developing new ways of working around our Raising Rochdale approach and it is an exciting time to join us.
You will ideally have experience of working within a Local Authority with an awareness of the children’s and/or adults services provided. You may have a social care background but this is not essential. You should also have a working knowledge of care options for children and young people and some understanding of the experiences of cared for children and foster carers.
