We are strengthening our Strategic Housing Services and are looking for an inspiring Housing Solutions & Homelessness Manager to help lead our housing need and homelessness functions. This is a pivotal leadership role with direct responsibility for our operational teams, providing expert guidance and strong focus on service improvement.

Whether your background is in homelessness prevention, statutory assessments, allocations, housing options, supported housing, temporary accommodation or another housing delivery area, we welcome experienced managers who are committed to delivering excellent housing outcomes and supporting residents who need us most.

About the Role

Working as part of the wider management team, you will provide professional guidance to Senior Officers, support teams with complex or high‑risk cases, and help drive service development and continuous improvement. Your leadership will ensure our statutory functions are delivered safely, legally, compassionately and consistently, with a strong emphasis on prevention, early intervention and sustainable pathways out of homelessness. You will work closely with internal and external partners, Registered Providers, support services, and voluntary and community sector organisations to strengthen joint working, improve access to suitable housing, and build effective pathways that meet a broad range of housing needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting teams delivering housing advice, homelessness assessments, allocations and/or temporary accommodation
  • Providing operational oversight, guidance and decision‑making support to staff
  • Championing a strengths‑based, trauma‑informed and person‑centred approach across services
  • Overseeing complex or high‑risk casework, safeguarding concerns and partnership interventions
  • Managing team performance, quality assurance and data‑driven service improvements
  • Building effective partnerships with housing providers, voluntary organisations, health and social care
  • Supporting service development, change programmes
  • Leading and supporting staff wellbeing, training, development and reflective practice

This is a role for a motivated leader who enjoys driving positive change, supporting teams, and delivering meaningful impact.

About You

You are a confident, collaborative manager with experience leading operational teams in homelessness, housing management, allocations, supported housing or a similar environment. You bring:

  • Strong leadership and people‑management skills
  • The ability to motivate and guide teams in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience supporting complex casework and vulnerable residents
  • A commitment to quality, performance and continuous improvement
  • Excellent partnership‑building and communication skills
  • A proactive, solution‑focused approach grounded in empathy and professionalism
  • A passion for prevention, early intervention and delivering accessible housing services

We do not expect candidates to have experience across every area if you bring leadership skills and strong housing knowledge in one key area; we will support your development across the wider service.

About Us

Our Strategic Housing Service is committed to preventing homelessness, improving housing outcomes and enabling residents to live safe, secure and independent lives. We work collaboratively across teams and partners to deliver compassionate, strengths‑based services that respond to the changing needs of our communities. Our values guide everything we do: Proud, Passionate, Pioneering.

Why Join Us?

  • A supportive, forward‑thinking leadership team
  • A service committed to learning, development and continuous improvement
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Opportunities to shape future service delivery and innovation
  • Casual car‑user allowance
  • Work that genuinely changes lives
