With over 60 years supporting Northwest England's workforce, ROHS Occupational Health is looking for an experienced Occupational Health Technician to join our team, helping employees stay safe, healthy, and able to thrive at work.

Rochdale Occupational Health Service Ltd supports businesses across a wide range of industries in maintaining a safe, healthy, and productive workforce. We provide occupational health assessments, first aid and safety training, and workplace wellbeing programmes that support both mental and physical health. Our services are practical, compliant, and tailored to each client, delivered on-site and remotely, backed by trusted expert advice.
The Role
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Rochdale, working 36 hours per week, Monday–Friday, supporting the delivery of occupational health services to client organisations across the North West and, occasionally, further afield. Day-to-day, you'll:
- Conduct health screenings and assessments, including blood pressure, vision, hearing, and lung function tests
- Assist with medical surveillance programmes
- Collect and process laboratory samples in line with clinical protocols
- Accurately record and maintain health data, and support clinicians with appointments and follow-up
- Contribute to workplace wellbeing initiatives
- Liaise with employees and managers to schedule assessments, explain procedures, and promote safe, healthy working practices
- Work in line with relevant legislation, clinical guidelines, and data protection requirements
What We’re Looking For
- A relevant qualification, such as an Occupational Health Technician certificate, healthcare assistant diploma, or equivalent experience
- Experience in health assessments, medical surveillance, or workplace health promotion
- Confidence handling samples and diagnostic equipment, with accuracy in recording results
- Clear, sensitive communication skills for working with employees, clinicians, and managers
- A solid understanding of health and safety regulations, confidentiality, and data protection in a clinical or workplace setting
- Good IT skills for electronic record keeping, scheduling, and reporting
- A methodical approach with strong attention to detail
- Previous experience in occupational health, primary care, or workplace health settings is desirable but not essential
Salary: £26,000–£30,000 per annum, dependent on experience
26 days annual leave plus bank holidays
