This post is not suitable for ASYE and requires an experienced social worker. The salary on offer for this role is Grade 7/8 depending on experience: £36,363 - £47,181. Opportunities exist to join Rochdale Borough Council as a full-time Social Worker based within the Adult Social Care mental health teams covering Rochdale.
The role is focused on Adult Social Care statutory priorities and functions under the Care Act 2014, including:
- Strength-based needs assessments
- Working with the brokerage team to commission services
- Completing mental capacity assessments
- Undertaking statutory safeguarding enquiries as required
Hours may be required to be worked over 7 days, as per the needs of the service. The postholder will be expected to undertake a certain amount of travelling in the course of their duties for which a casual car user allowance will be paid.
Essential Professional Requirements:
- Qualified social worker
- Registered with Social Work England
- Experience of placement and/or employment in a local authority statutory adult social care setting is desirable
- Ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English (Section 7 of the Immigration Act 2016)
Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS including a barred list check against the adult workforce.

Additional Opportunities for AMHPs and BIAs:
- Qualified practising AMHPs will have the opportunity to practice as part of a rota supporting those AMHPs based within the dedicated AMHP Hub, with regular professional supervision and AMHP refresher training
- An annual allowance of £2,025 will be paid to qualified AMHPs, subject to certain requirements being met
- Qualified Best Interest Assessors will have the opportunity to take part on the BIA rota
