Rochdale Pupil Referral Service is defederating from Brownhill Learning Community effective September 2025. There are up to 260 pupils based across 3 sites in Rochdale, with plans for growth and new purpose-built buildings. The Governors are looking to appoint a School Business Manager to start as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working, dedicated and professional person to join our team. This would be an ideal opportunity for somebody who is already in a similar position, or somebody who has the right transferrable skills and a passion to work in this varied and very rewarding role.

Key areas of responsibility:
FinanceOperational finance processes are of paramount importance for effective and timely ordering, invoicing and payment. Monthly reconciliation will be carried out, taking advice from the school budget officer. You will work with the Senior Business Manager on budget setting and monitoring. Securing financial sustainability in the medium to longer term is important. This includes applying for and managing external bids and contracts and managing all subscriptions and leases.
AdministrationEnsuring excellent procedures are in place and the delivery of statutory reporting to both internal and external stakeholders is within set timeframes.
PersonnelManaging HR procedures and paperwork.
