Receptionist / Admin Assistant – Deeplish Primary Academy

Term: Permanent, 25 hours per week (38.8 weeks per year)

Hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm on Monday & Friday, with the remaining 10 hours flexible.

Salary: £25,583 – £26,824 (FTE) pro‑rated for part‑time.

The contract of employment will be with Focus‑Trust / Deeplish Primary Academy, not with Rochdale Council.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the warm and welcoming first point of contact for visitors to the academy.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the academy office.
  • Work effectively as part of a skilled, organised and disciplined team.
  • Develop good relationships with staff, parents and children.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Possess suitability to work with children, including passing an enhanced DBS check.
  • Be able to converse in accurate spoken English to provide advice to customers and service users.
  • Be able to undergo right‑to‑work checks and provide proof of right to work in the UK.
  • Acknowledge that safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people is a core responsibility of the role, and that pre‑employment checks will be conducted.
  • Be willing to complete additional pre‑employment checks as required by Focus‑Trust.
