About the role

Rochdale Borough Council is seeking a forward-thinking Benefits Realisation Manager to lead the development and continuous improvement of our benefits framework. This exciting role sits in our Transformation PMO and ensures that transformation and business change activity delivers the required outcomes for our residents, customers and the organisation.

You will play an important part in embedding benefits thinking across the organisation. You will work with wider teams and stakeholders to ensure that change activity is aligned to strategic priorities and delivers the required outcomes.

  • Design, develop and continuously improve an organisation-wide Benefits Realisation Framework.
  • Ensure benefits - financial, non-financial - are identified, measured and delivered.
  • Oversee the creation and management of benefit plans, metrics and KPIs.
  • Provide expert guidance on embedding benefits into business cases and project plans.
  • Monitor benefits performance across programmes, escalating risks and identifying opportunities.
  • Build organisational capability in benefits management.

Who we are looking for

You will bring experience from benefits management, analysis or performance roles within a complex organisation. You will be confident working with senior leaders and be comfortable translating strategic objectives into measures for delivery and reporting regularly on these.

You will enjoy working with different colleagues and will be analytical and proactive. We are looking for someone who stays focused on making sure what we do achieves its intended outcomes, value for money and return on investment and is comfortable with the challenges involved in being successful in this area.

We work in a hybrid way with the team in the office (Number One Riverside) 3 days a week. The PMO team work closely with colleagues across the business and at all levels so you will have opportunities to connect with lots of colleagues. Our team have a wealth of experience from a number of industries, public and private sector and across different disciplines (Programme and Project Management and Business Analysis) and have in-depth knowledge of the organisation, structures and processes.
