Overview
Over the last 3 years, Rochdale has embarked on a co‑produced transformation journey with children and families and has developed a set of clear outcomes for Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). As part of our improvement, we have redesigned our system to develop a strong integrated team approach and have agreed a set of improvement priorities. We are now ready to move forward in the recruitment of an Assistant Head of SEND – Operations. The post holder will be responsible for the leadership of the Local Authority's key statutory deliverables in SEND. The post holder will work alongside a range of existing system SEND professionals and be part of a triple award-winning service. Raising Rochdale is an exciting place to be.

Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for the leadership of EHCP, SEND Transport, Commissioning and SEND Travel. They will be a strong partnership player who places the voice, aspirations and outcomes for children and families at the heart of design and delivery. Some knowledge of developing projects and programmes of improvements is required. We are looking for a leader with specialist knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory procedure with a proven track record of senior level management within this field.
