Salary: £32,061 to £35,412 per annum + potential additional earnings of up to £3K per annum (made up of Sleep-in Allowances and Bank Holiday payments)

Working Hours: We have full-time and part-time vacancies (which includes working evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleep-in duties)

Do you have what it takes to become an exceptional part of a Children's Residential Service and want to make a real difference to the lives of the children and young people that we care for? We are expanding our Children's Residential Service and opening a further new home in addition to our 6 established homes. The new home is for children and young people with a Disability, from 8-17 yrs of age. We also have a number of openings in our established homes.

We ask that you have a positive attitude and outlook and have the ability to be both adaptable and flexible to meet the needs and difficulties of the children and young people we are caring for. Our children and young people in all our homes need care, love, nurture and guidance to help them on the journey they take in life.

For our Homes for Children and Young People with a Disability, you will need:

  • Understanding of children and young people with SEND/disability and person-centred care.
  • A genuine interest in the well-being and inclusion of children and young people with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in supporting children and young people who may show behaviours that may challenge.
  • Experience in providing care to individuals with disabilities and the possibility of personal care.

All our Children and Young People need committed and dependable individuals who will go above and beyond and help to safeguard them and promote their physical and emotional health and wellbeing.

The position involves working shifts, including working weekends, Bank Holidays and at times of Religious Festivals. There is the expectation that you will also take part in the children and young people's holidays, which could involve being away from home for up to a week. Sleep-in duties are also a part of the position. Sleep-in duties are not included in your working hours, as you will receive an additional payment for these.

There are real opportunities for your personal and professional development and our training offer in Rochdale is second to none, including you completing the Therapeutic Parenting with PACE training programme, which is the foundation of our 'Model of Care'.

You must be over 21 years of age and have at least 1 year's experience working with Children and Young People. It is preferable that you are qualified to NVQ/Diploma Level 3/4 Working with Children and Young People or equivalent, but don't worry if you don't, as we will support you to obtain the Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (Residential Care) qualification as part of your ongoing training and development.

Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS including a barred list check child workforce.
