Grade: 6, points 19 to 24

Salary: from £28,359 to £31,324

The Headteacher and Governors of St Mary’s RC Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and conscientious Teaching Assistant Level 4 (HLTA), to join our successful and happy Catholic school.
The successful candidate will work across the school in all phases, supervising classes for absent teachers, working in support of teachers in the classroom and leading our large team of teaching assistants.
The ideal person will have a good knowledge of the National Curriculum, reading, phonics and group interventions. They should have knowledge of assessment in primary education. They may have an area of expertise that would enhance the children’s education in our school.
We require someone who is highly motivated, flexible, organised and reliable. You will love working with children and as part of a team. You will have a positive attitude, sense of humour and excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will:
- Have GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics
- Have their HLTA qualification
- Have an understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding
- Have experience of working with children
- Have experience of leading a team or aspirations to do so
- Be a strong team player who will join the senior leadership team
- Be able to use their initiative and be resourceful

The above post will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Safeguarding our children is of utmost importance to us so the successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Successful candidates will be required to sign a Catholic Education Service contract.
