We have an exciting opportunity to join the Rochdale EHC Team as an EHC Coordinator. We are recruiting to four full‑time fixed‑term posts: three for a period of 12 months and one for a period of six months. Are you passionate about working in a service which makes a difference to the lives of the children, young people and families of our borough? This role forms part of the front door to the EHC Team and we are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident in a busy, fast‑paced environment. The post offers hybrid and flexible working.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day‑to‑day administrative tasks
- Answering phone enquiries and providing accurate, timely information
- Monitoring the team inbox and responding to queries appropriately
- Issuing draft and final EHCPs
- Initiating statutory EHC needs assessments
- Processing annual review paperwork
Requirements
- Confident communicator with families and professionals
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload
- Competent with ICT systems
- Experience working with children, young people or families is desirable
This role offers a great opportunity to develop experience within the SEND services, work closely with a wide range of professionals, support children, young people and families across the borough and gain valuable skills that can support progression within the EHC team. The council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects staff to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS including a barred list check child workforce. External candidates applying for this role must be a Rochdale Resident who lives within the municipal boundaries of the Borough of Rochdale (i.e. where the household pays council tax to Rochdale Borough Council).
