Salary: £42,839 - £47,181 Pro-rata

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint an experienced manager and aspiring leader to join our Central Trust team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in education governance and compliance, with a good understanding of trust structures and statutory guidance. You will lead our Trust‑wide compliance strategy (outside of Finance, H&S, ICT, and Staffing) and manage key areas such as the design of audit schedules, website compliance checks, policy reviews, and risk registers. The role involves working in a fast‑paced environment, exercising exceptional attention to detail, and benchmarking services for sustainable Trust growth. Excellent communication skills are required to advise Trustees and Local Governors, lead central panels, and provide balanced support and challenge. The post will be based at the Trust Head Office in Rochdale, with travel to our schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Trust-wide compliance strategy, excluding Finance, Health and Safety, ICT, and Staffing.
  • Design and manage audit schedules and website compliance checks.
  • Lead policy reviews and maintain risk registers.
  • Advise Trustees, Local Governors and the Board on compliance matters.
  • Lead central panels and provide balanced support and challenge to board members.
  • Travel to schools as required.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience acting as a Clerk to a Board or its committees, strong understanding of statutory guidance in education, and proven ability to develop and articulate strategic vision within an educational trust.
