Facilities Management have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, conscientious, reliable and ‘hands on’ Catering Assistant to join our team at ‘Fresh Kitchen’. You will assist with the running of school kitchens. As a catering assistant, you will be passionate about going that extra mile to deliver exceptional customer service to our pupils and staff.
Locations are various schools throughout the Borough (Rochdale, Middleton, Heywood and Littleborough).
Duties include:
- Preparation of food and beverages.
- Cooking of meals in accordance with menus.
- General kitchen dining room duties (for example washing-up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables).
- Cleaning and sanitising kitchen areas.
- Assisting the kitchen supervisor as directed.
Our Catering Assistant should:
- Possess some culinary skills and be passionate about producing great quality meals whilst helping to drive our brand forward.
- Have previous experience within the catering industry.
- Be enthusiastic and have an innovative approach.
- Be interested in feeding the minds of the future and educating the next generation about food.
- Knowledge of COSHH is essential.
- Ensure you follow the rules of health and safety.
- Have a basic knowledge of dietary requirements and allergens, although full training will be provided.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Be flexible and willing with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Cover will be required term time only and over the lunchtime period. Various hours are available, approximately between 9.30-2pm.
Experience in this or similar type of field is required.
Full Uniform/PPE is provided.
Appointment to this post is subject to full enhanced DBS and background checks. Health and safety regulations must be strictly adhered to.
