About the Role
Facilities Management are seeking to appoint a Caretaker to join the team at St. Edward's CE Primary School. This is an important role within a busy and welcoming school environment, supporting the day-to-day running, safety and cleanliness of the site.
- 32.5 hours per week based on a split shift Monday to Friday 7am-9.30am & 2.30pm-6.30pm.
- This is a Term Time Only Contract whereby you only work in school terms.
- Plus an additional 4 weeks to be worked in schools holiday periods to be agreed by the school to undertake deep cleaning during the school holidays.
- Please note hours may be subject to change dependent on the needs of the service.
- Overtime may be required from time to time and the appropriate rate will be paid.
About you
We are looking for someone who is a hard-working, energetic and honest person with excellent customer care skills and the ability to provide a quality service at this busy school site. The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for maintaining an excellent standard of cleanliness of designated areas in the building, including toilets and associated facilities against an agreed cleaning specification and good attention to detail.
- Able to complete practical handyman tasks.
- Have the ability to work to tight timescales and a flexible approach.
- Be able to work independently using initiative and as part of a team.
- Able to communicate clearly with and relate positively to all members of the school team.
- Have knowledge of Health & Safety at work.
- Recognise the importance of ensuring a secure and safe environment of the site, including record keeping and the completion of compliance tasks.
Experience is essential, although persons with skills appropriate and a willing attitude are invited to apply. Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS including a barred list check child workforce.
