We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practitioner to join our Duty and Assessment Team on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a great opportunity to step up into an Advanced Practitioner role in a busy, fast paced team where you will be part of a supportive management group and you will have lots of opportunity to develop during this time.
As Advanced Practitioners on Duty and Assessment you will have a reduced caseload of complex cases. You will deliver coaching, mentoring and support to Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) and experienced Social Workers, providing guidance, support and best practice as well as supporting the Team Manager with quality assurance and practice improvements. You will also deputise for the manager in their absence, for example chairing strategy discussions, initiating Section 47 enquiries and other complex meetings as directed by the service needs.
We would ask that applicants meet the following:
- Social work degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work and will be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker.
- Experience of working within safeguarding children.
- Have an enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.
- Have the ability to work within and contribute to a team.
- Possess knowledge of service needs for minority ethnic groups and communities.
- Have confident IT skills and be able to navigate an electronic file system.
- Have the ability to write clear, concise and robust synopsis to evidence your decision making.
