About the Role

We’re Hiring: Two Full-Time Positions in our Temporary Accommodation Services.

Family Temporary Accommodation service Full-Time Position.

This role focuses on supporting families in our Temporary Accommodation Services.

Single Temporary Accommodation service - full time position.

This role focuses on supporting single individuals in our Temporary Accommodation Services.

The Temporary Accommodation Service has recently been through a period of change, resulting in a vacancy for an Accommodation Support Worker. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our vision of delivering excellent housing services and sustainable homes for residents across the Borough.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of a temporary accommodation placement and will also support people to maintain their homes, become more independent and ready to sustain a general needs tenancy.

You will be working closely with residents who may need support with attending appointments, substance misuse, poor mental health, maximising income/budgeting, accessing health services and educational placements among others. You will also adopt our Early Help Practice standards when supporting family households which builds on our holistic working style.

About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to our residents by working to manage their accommodation, support and eventually their move on into more sustainable accommodation.

The successful applicant will

  • Have some knowledge and experience in safeguarding residents and the ability to follow procedures to make sure people are safeguarded effectively.
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team and to work collaboratively with other services and partners.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Be able to simplify and explain sometimes complex information to residents
  • Have good time management and organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Be resilient and determined to ensure that the residents we support are provided with an excellent service and achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Have an understanding of homelessness legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Have experience in support work and service delivery, you will be confident and capable in managing complex cases and supporting vulnerable individuals.
