Our hotel The Balmoral is located at Edinburgh’s most prestigious address, No. 1 Princes Street, where the Old Town stops and the New Town begins. Our hotel’s majestic clock defines the city’s skyline, and since the day we opened in 1902, it has run three minutes fast to ensure our guests will never miss their train.
Your key responsibilities:
- Oversee the team’s workflow, ensuring good cooperation across departments.
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper in delivering exceptional housekeeping standards, ensuring guest rooms and public areas consistently reflect the hotel’s luxury brand and five-star expectations.
- Supervise, coach, and inspire the housekeeping team, leading by example to maintain a culture of professionalism, discretion, and outstanding guest service.
- Conduct detailed room and area inspections, ensuring presentation, cleanliness, and amenities meet exacting standards before guest arrival and throughout occupancy.
- Support daily operations and staff scheduling, assisting with rotas, cover arrangements, and efficient workflow during peak periods.
- Oversee linen, uniforms, and cleaning supplies, maintaining par levels, managing stock rotation, and ensuring premium materials are handled correctly.
- Respond to guest requests and special requirements discreetly and promptly, working closely with Front Office and Maintenance to ensure a seamless luxury experience.
- Support team members to ensure that five-star service standards are maintained at all times.
- Deliver discreet, understated, tailored, and timely service whilst sharing your knowledge and best practice with the team.
- Remain focused on delivering excellence and seeking feedback from guests.
- Be knowledgeable of the hotel and our products, and actively seek opportunities to promote them.
- Communicate regularly on the progress of tasks and consistently deliver on time to an excellent standard.
