Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working a shift rota including some weekends
We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join a dedicated Young People's Homelessness Service in Carlisle. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting young people to build confidence, develop life skills, and move towards independent living.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide one-to-one support to young residents, helping them overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes. The role is primarily office-based, with a strong focus on support planning, administration, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support tailored to each young person's individual needs
- Support residents to access education, training, and employment opportunities
- Encourage the development of independent living skills
- Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Complete support plans and other administrative tasks
- Promote and maintain health and safety within the service
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience working in supported housing, children's residential services, or mental health services
- A passion for supporting vulnerable young people
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and CRM systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Flexibility to work a rota, including some weekends
