Structured Cabling Estimator Hybrid – Customer Site in Berkshire Join Roc Technologies and help shape secure, high-assurance infrastructure. We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Cabling-Aligned Architect or experienced Cabling Estimator to take on a senior, customer-facing role, driving the design and pricing of structured cabling infrastructure within secure ICT environments. This role sits at the critical intersection of technical design, strategic consulting, and commercial precision. Working within our Pre-Sales and Go-To-Market function, you\’ll serve as the trusted advisor to some of Roc’s most important customers — primarily across the Berkshire region — and play a key role in securing, planning, and supporting secure IT infrastructure transformation. As Roc’s lead Structure Cabling Estimator/Pre-Sales Specialist, you’ll: * Own the technical and commercial leadership of structured cabling proposals. * Deliver detailed Bill of Materials, costing breakdowns, and compliance documentation. * Support secure infrastructure bids across data cabling, containment systems, and passive network components. * Engage directly with senior stakeholders — from IT leads to C-Suite decision-makers. * Collaborate closely with internal architects, engineers, and project managers to align solutions to client needs. * Provide ongoing input into design, strategy, and innovation for secure ICT estates. Key Responsibilities * Estimation & Design * Build detailed, competitive cost models for cabling and infrastructure work. * Interpret client drawings, specs, and site requirements to produce accurate BoMs. * Ensure compliance with standards like BS EN 50174, ISO/IEC 11801, and JSP guidelines. * Pre-Sales & Technical Consultancy * Develop compelling proposals, scopes of work, and compliance matrices. * Present solutions to clients — clearly, confidently, and credibly. * Lead workshops and discovery sessions to capture technical and business requirements. * Stakeholder Engagement * Be the subject matter expert for cabling infrastructure within high-assurance environments. * Work closely with vendors and Roc’s delivery teams to shape technical roadmaps and solutions. * Security & Delivery Oversight * Operate within MOD/government secure-site procedures. * Collaborate with engineers and PMs to ensure accurate and feasible delivery plans. Essential Skills & Experience: * 5+ years in structured cabling, cost estimation, or technical pre-sales. * Expertise in copper, fibre, containment, and infrastructure design. * Excellent stakeholder communication, proposal writing, and Excel/estimating skills. * UK National with active SC or DV clearance, or the ability to obtain it. * Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CNCI, BICSI). Desirable Knowledge: * Familiarity with cabling vendors (Siemon, Corning, Connectix). * Networking fundamentals (Aruba, Cisco, Juniper). * Experience in secure environments (MOD, Government, Nuclear, etc.) * Government procurement processes (MOD frameworks, NEC3/4, JCT). * Understanding of ITSM, CRM, and design tools such as ServiceNow.
