The Role

We are looking for an experienced Cabling Data Engineer to join our delivery team supporting projects based primarily at Gatwick. This is a hands-on, site-based role delivering structured cabling and data infrastructure works within live environments. You will play a key role in maintaining Roc's high engineering standards while ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation and termination of CAT5e / CAT6 / CAT6a / Fibre cabling
  • Installing containment systems including tray, basket, trunking and conduit
  • Cabinet and rack builds, patching and structured labelling
  • Testing, certification and fault finding using Fluke testers (or equivalent)
  • Working to project drawings, RAMS and Roc Technologies quality standards
  • Liaising with project managers, engineers and site stakeholders
  • Completing test results and site documentation accurately and on time
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and security on site

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data / Structured Cabling Engineer
  • Strong copper and fibre installation and termination skills
  • Experience working in live environments (commercial buildings, campuses, transport hubs or data centres)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • ECS or CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Manufacturer accreditations (e.g. Excel, CommScope, Panduit)
  • Fluke testing experience and certification
  • IPAF / PASMA
  • Experience working on secure or critical infrastructure sites
