Senior/ Principal Mechanical Design Engineer – Burton upon Trent- £50,000 – 60,000
We are looking for a Senior/ Principal Design Engineer to join our dynamic client based in Burton upon Trent! This would suit either a Senior, Lead or Principal Design Engineer looking for a new challenge!
The ideal candidate will have around 8 to 10+ years’ Design experience previously with experience designing components or products using a variety of manufacturing methods including CNC machined precision components, die cast/ casting and injection moulded plastic.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Principal / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will take the Design from customer concept to manufacture – working with customers, suppliers and cross functional teams
- The Principal / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be leading on various product lines designing bespoke components and designs using various manufacturing methods in Solidworks
- Must be able and willing to travel across the UK and Globally 2-3 times a year to customers and suppliers where necessary
Key Attributes:
- Ideally around 8 to 10 years + experience in a Design role taking designs from customer ideas to manufacture
- Experience using Solidworks or a similar 3D CAD package such as Inventor, Creo, Catia, Solid Edge etc.
- Experience designing for manufacture with excellent communication skills to liaise with cross functional teams and customers
- Strong initiative with a team player attitude
