10 Month Contract £580 – £650 per day LTD Company Outside of IR35 UK based with regular rotations within European cabling projects Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Offshore Project Engineer with a strong background in subsea cabling, trenching, and dredging to join our team within the Offshore Wind sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in planning, executing, and managing offshore wind projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of subsea cable installation, trenching, and dredging activities. Key Responsibilities: Project Engineering & Execution: Plan and execute offshore wind farm cable installation, trenching, and dredging operations from project initiation to completion. Develop and review project-specific engineering documents, including method statements, risk assessments, and installation procedures. Ensure compliance with all project specifications, technical requirements, industry standards, and HSE regulations. Offshore Operations Management: Provide technical support during offshore operations, including cable lay, burial, and dredging activities. Monitor and manage on-site subcontractors, vessel operations, and offshore personnel to ensure project milestones are met. Supervise installation vessels, ROVs, trenching machines, and dredging equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Technical & Commercial Support: Assist in the preparation of project budgets, schedules, and resource plans. Evaluate and select subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment based on project requirements and cost-effectiveness. Provide technical input for bid proposals, tender evaluations, and client discussions. Risk Management & Compliance: Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize operational impacts. Conduct offshore site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Reporting & Communication: Prepare detailed progress reports, including engineering updates, operational performance, and project financials. Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. Participate in client meetings, providing updates on project status and addressing technical queries. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering preferred) or equivalent industry experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore wind or marine construction, with a focus on cabling, trenching, and dredging operations. Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software (AutoCAD, Navisworks, Primavera P6, etc.). Strong knowledge of subsea cable installation techniques, trenching tools, dredging equipment, and marine vessel operations. Familiarity with industry standards such as DNV, IEC, IMCA, and HSE regulations. Ability to work offshore for extended periods as required. Desirable: Offshore certifications such as BOSIET, GWO, and HUET. Experience with ROV and trenching systems for subsea cable burial. Knowledge of soil mechanics and seabed conditions related to trenching and dredging. Previous experience with offshore wind farm construction in a client-facing role.
