Our client based in Melksham are on the lookout for a highly motivated Software Developer to join an experienced in-house team building and improving business-critical systems. This is a hands-on role focused on developing robust internal applications, solving real operational problems and supporting a fast-moving business environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable applications using PHP (Raw/Vanilla), MySQL and JavaScript
- Improve existing systems for performance, usability and reliability
- Troubleshoot technical and business-critical issues
- Work closely with internal teams to deliver effective software solutions
- Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows
Key skills and experience:
- Strong PHP 7/8 experience with solid OOP principles
- Strong MySQL and relational database knowledge
- HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript experience
- Python knowledge, ideally with exposure to AI projects
- Experience with VSCode and AI-assisted development tools
- Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
Desirable skills:
- AWS, Docker, Git, Redis, RabbitMQ
- SQL Server, ElasticSearch/Lucene
- Linux server administration via SSH
