Roc have partnered with a fast growing Fintech in London who are changing the way that the finance world is working together, from businesses to banks. Our client have created a cloud hosted platform through which information and services are shared. They are looking for a Lead UI/UX designer who has a strong portfolio and examples of designing public facing web and mobile applications ideally within finance. The role will report to the Product Owner and will be responsible for designing a new user interface for their bank and business clients. The candidate will actively engage with clients, the development team and requires someone with strong communication and graphical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Use advanced Figma skills to design and create user-centred interfaces for web and mobile applications focused on financial forecasting, accounting, and risk management.
  • Apply your understanding of finance-related concepts and user behaviours to design interfaces that efficiently facilitate financial transactions, data visualisation, and account management.
  • Build and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all applications.
  • Plan and lead on user research, user testing, and create user personas to inform design decisions.
  • Effectively present research findings and advocate for strong design solutions.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to align on what is feasible, valuable, and timely.
  • Own and continuously improve the design-to-development handoff process to ensure clarity, version control, and smooth execution.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with product, development, and stakeholders to align on priorities, scope, and timelines.
  • Face-off with client UI/UX teams where the company is required to implement their branding.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in UI/UX design for web and mobile applications.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies.
  • Proficient in design tools, specifically Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficient in creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to demonstrate user flow and design concepts.
  • Experience creating design systems and style guides.
  • Excellent understanding of ‘AA’ WCAG standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of UI development, including HTML 5, CSS, and other frameworks.
  • Designing micro front-end solutions where modules are aligned with domain-bounded services.
  • Experience in designing white-label SaaS products.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, Agile environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
