Location: Bristol (site-based)

Reports to: Construction Manager

Day Rate / Salary: £350/day upwards or ~£55,000+ per annum

Role Purpose

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, on-time and on-budget delivery of civils infrastructure work in the Bristol area. You will oversee daily site operations, site inspections, RAMS implementation and task statements, coordinating labour and ensuring compliance with health and safety, quality and contract standards. You will manage multiple work fronts, looking after two teams at any one time, and will play a key role in supporting new and expanding project activity as the business grows its work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring efficient coordination of subcontractors, plant, labour and materials
  • Carry out task statements, site inspections and enforce RAMS and safe systems of work
  • Ensure works are completed safely, to quality standards and aligned with programme targets
  • Manage and support 3-5 person site teams through clear leadership and communication
  • Maintain compliance with all site health, safety and environmental requirements
  • Report to the Construction Manager on progress, issues and resourcing needs

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Experience in mains renewal for Bristol Water or similar utilities work
  • Proven track record working with trunk mains over 300mm
  • Strong treatment works and sewer experience, including rehabilitation of mains
  • Good general site and civil engineering experience
  • Competent computer skills for reporting and documentation
  • CSCS card and SMSTS certification

Desirable Qualifications

  • First Aid at Work
  • Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS)

Work Conditions

Primarily site-based (Bristol and surrounding region). Flexible working aligned to project needs. Typical hours: 07:30am to 05:00pm, with occasional requirements outside these hours to meet programme demands.
