An experienced After-Treatment Engineer is required to support the development, integration, and application of exhaust and after-treatment systems for diesel engines. The role will support ongoing long term future programmes, working closely with engine development, vehicle integration, and project engineering teams. This position is suited to a senior contractor with strong system ownership and responsibility, rather than purely CAD execution, and proven experience within heavy-duty vehicle environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the design, integration, and application of exhaust and after-treatment systems
- Work with engine platforms and associated after-treatment technologies
- Provide system-level engineering responsibility, including packaging, integration, and performance considerations
- Produce and manage CAD designs and layouts using Creo
- Collaborate with engine development, vehicle integration, and project engineering teams
- Support on-site activities including design reviews, build support, commercial vehicle related work, and technical meetings
- Contribute to handover and knowledge transfer during staff transition periods
- Act as a senior technical point of contact within the after-treatment / exhaust discipline
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as an After-Treatment, Exhaust, or Emissions Engineer
- Strong background in heavy-duty diesel engines
- Hands-on experience with after-treatment systems
- Experience working on emissions-compliant exhaust systems
- Strong CAD capability using Creo
- Comfortable operating in a contract role with autonomy and system ownership
Desirable Experience
- Supporting engine or vehicle integration teams
- Background spanning both design and project engineering
