Service Technician

Location: North Warwickshire

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £30-32k + OT

We are recruiting for a Service Technician to join an established engineering business. This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role involving the inspection, servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections, servicing, repairs and planned maintenance.
  • Attend customer sites to diagnose faults, carry out repairs and complete modifications.
  • Work with customers and contractors to coordinate site requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and recommendations where appropriate.
  • Complete accurate service reports and maintenance documentation.
  • Identify and report unsafe working practices or conditions.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health and safety.
  • Work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider engineering team.
  • Support other areas of the business when required.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience working with refrigeration or heat exchange equipment is essential.
  • Practical experience servicing, maintaining or repairing relevant mechanical equipment.
  • Good fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong mechanical understanding.
  • Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, including occasional overnight stays.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • F‑Gas certification.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Experience with equipment controls.
  • Broader refrigeration knowledge.
  • Previous field service or customer‑facing engineering experience.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Experience working within industrial, HVAC or similar engineering environments.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
