Roc Search have been engaged to support a growing global software business looking for a commercially minded, technically credible CTO to lead technology and product through a critical phase of scale and modernisation. This role suits a hands-on leader who has successfully modernised legacy platforms, built high-performing teams, and can balance innovation with operational stability in mission-critical environments.
You will lead a team of 50+ engineers and product professionals, working with two senior leaders who currently drive their domains.
Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end technology and product strategy
- Drive legacy modernisation using pragmatic, incremental approaches
- Improve software quality, delivery, and operational resilience
- Build and scale engineering and product teams
- Partner with the board, customers, and investors
- Proven CTO or senior tech leader in B2B / SaaS
- Completed legacy transformation programmes (not just attempted)
- Strong product mind-set and evidence-based decision making
- Experience with cloud, modern frameworks, and legacy systems (e.g. AWS, MS SQL, C#, Go, React or similar)
- Comfortable operating at board level and with enterprise customers
- Familiarity with investor-backed software companies
- Knowledge of AI-augmented development practices
