An innovative technology company based in Cambridge is looking for a hands-on and versatile Project Engineer to support the development of advanced imaging and inspection systems used across a range of high-tech industries. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative engineering environment, working on cutting-edge products alongside multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, software and scientific disciplines.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will support the Project Leader in the design, development and improvement of new and existing products. The role will involve a combination of design, prototyping, testing, documentation and customer-focused engineering support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and scoping product improvements and new features based on customer feedback and internal development requirements
  • Working closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineers, as well as Scientists and Applications teams, to design, prototype, test and evaluate components and sub-assemblies
  • Producing and maintaining project documentation in line with internal development procedures
  • Creating and managing project plans, milestones and deliverables
  • Liaising with manufacturing teams and suppliers to define requirements and develop solutions
  • Managing engineering documentation including work instructions and bills of materials
