Are you the engineer people rely on for power electronics expertise? This is an opportunity to step into a technical leadership role where you'll take full ownership of aerospace power conversion systems - from concept through to validation - in a highly demanding, safety-critical environment. You'll play a key role in shaping architecture, driving design decisions, and ensuring systems meet strict performance and regulatory standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the design and development of AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion systems
- Designing high-performance converters (PFC, THD, inrush optimisation)
- Developing and validating control loops for power stages
- Designing snubber and damping networks for stable operation
- Owning EMC strategy, including multi-stage filtering design
- Performing stability analysis and system-level validation
- Designing custom magnetics (transformers, inductors)
- Running simulations (LTspice or similar) to validate designs
- Ensuring compliance with aerospace standards (DO-160, Boeing D6, ABD0100)
- Mentoring and supporting other engineers
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or similar)
- Strong experience with AC/DC and DC/DC converter design
- Deep understanding of power electronics, control loops, and stability
- Experience with EMC design and real-world compliance challenges
- Knowledge of aerospace or other regulated industries
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g. LTspice)
- Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Altium
Why Apply?
- Take real ownership not just oversight
- Influence system design from the ground up
- Work on complex, high-reliability aerospace systems
- Be recognised as a technical authority in your field
