An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Gloucester (fully onsite). This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter with 1-2 years' hands-on experience within a machinery, manufacturing or engineering environment who is looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career. You'll join a supportive engineering team where full training will be provided, giving you the opportunity to expand your technical knowledge and progress within the business.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be responsible for assembling mechanical components and machinery to a high standard, ensuring quality, accuracy and safety throughout the build process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical components and machinery using engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Use a range of hand and basic power tools safely and effectively.
- Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly tasks to a high standard.
- Complete basic quality checks throughout the assembly process.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and workshop best practices.
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure projects are completed on time.
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years' experience working within a manufacturing, machinery or engineering environment.
- Experience using hand tools and carrying out mechanical assembly work.
- Basic understanding of mechanical fitting principles.
- Good practical skills with strong attention to detail.
