We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing engineering projects onsite at a client manufacturing facility in the North West. This is a hands-on contract role requiring strong CREO expertise and prior experience within the automotive or commercial vehicle sector. The role is primarily onsite and offers flexibility to support different teams and projects across the engineering function as business needs evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver mechanical design solutions using CREO (PTC Creo)
  • Support the development of components and systems within automotive and commercial vehicle programmes
  • Work across multiple engineering areas depending on project requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, validation, and quality
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, performance requirements, and manufacturability guidelines
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement activities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mechanical design engineering
  • Strong proficiency in CREO (PTC Creo / ProE)
  • Background in automotive, truck, or commercial vehicle industries
  • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals such as GD&T, DFM, and design validation
  • Ability to work onsite in the North West
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to support different teams and projects

Additional Information

  • This role operates inside IR35
  • Flexibility is required to move across departments based on business needs
  • Immediate start preferred (subject to availability)
