I'm currently recruiting for an Applications Support Engineer to join an innovative technology business developing advanced metrology and instrumentation solutions for the semiconductor industry. This is a highly technical, customer-facing role combining applications engineering, technical support, instrumentation, testing and troubleshooting, with the opportunity to work on some genuinely cutting-edge technology.
The role will involve:
- Providing pre- and post-sales technical support to customers
- Processing customer samples and delivering product demonstrations and training
- Installation, setup, testing, debugging and development of scientific instrumentation
- Supporting customers with data interpretation and technical troubleshooting
- Working closely with engineering teams to feed customer requirements into future product development
- Attending trade shows, customer sites and technical events
- International travel - potentially up to 50% of the role, sometimes at short notice
We're looking for someone with a Masters degree and relevant industrial experience, or a PhD, ideally with experience working with scientific instrumentation, signal processing and waveform analysis. Experience within semiconductors, failure analysis, GHz TDR, Terahertz systems, lasers, optics or robotics would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE
Location: Cambridge
Travel: Up to 50% internationally - you need to be comfortable/eligible with short notice global travel.
