Are you an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving existing products and working hands-on across electronics? We're working with an established technology business developing high-performance engineering products, and they're looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to take ownership of the electrical and electronic aspects of their existing product portfolio. This is a hands-on, technically focused role centred around troubleshooting, sustaining engineering, reliability improvements and problem solving, alongside supporting ongoing product development.
The Role
- You'll be the technical point of contact for electrical and electronic issues across the business, working closely with engineering, manufacturing and operations to identify problems, implement improvements and maintain product performance.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Investigating and resolving electrical and electronic faults.
- Supporting and improving existing electronic assemblies and products.
- Carrying out root cause analysis, troubleshooting and failure investigation.
- Identifying opportunities to improve reliability, performance and efficiency.
- Supporting component replacement and obsolescence management.
- Testing, modifying and redesigning existing circuits where required.
- Developing improvements and modifications to existing designs.
- Designing and maintaining test fixtures and test methods.
- Working closely with manufacturing and supply chain to resolve technical issues.
- Researching alternative components and technologies.
- Providing technical support and mentoring to other engineers.
- Producing technical documentation and communicating solutions to stakeholders.
- Supporting new designs where required.
- Occasional international travel.
About You
- You'll ideally have:
- A degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Around 10 years' experience in a similar electronics engineering role.
- Strong experience with schematic design and PCB layout.
- Experience with both analogue and digital electronics.
- Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
