About the Role
We're recruiting for an experienced Systems Design Engineer to join a leading engineering business specialising in industrial refrigeration.
You'll be responsible for designing bespoke refrigeration systems for complex industrial applications, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept through to commissioning.
- Design industrial refrigeration systems and produce thermal calculations.
- Calculate refrigeration loads, pipe sizing and pressure losses.
- Select compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, valves and associated equipment.
- Prepare and review P&IDs, technical documentation and engineering calculations.
- Work closely with project, electrical and controls engineers to deliver effective system designs.
- Provide technical support during project delivery, commissioning and customer meetings.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and industry regulations.
Experience & Skills
- 7-10 years' experience in industrial refrigeration systems design.
- Essential: Proven experience designing ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, vapour compression systems and refrigeration equipment selection.
- Experience with engineering design software and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
