Employed by Roby Medical Centre on behalf of Central & South PCN, we are looking for a newly qualified GP to join Central and South Primary Care Network. This is a structured and well-supported opportunity to build confidence, develop clinical practice, and work within a collaborative system. This role is funded through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) and is open to GPs within two years of CCT who have not yet held a substantive post.

Main duties of the job

  • Work within a supportive PCN model, delivering high-quality care across one, or at most two, practices within the network (depending on sessions agreed).
  • Deliver face-to-face and telephone consultations.
  • Manage acute and routine presentations.
  • Prescribe safely in line with local and national guidance.
  • Complete clinical administration including referrals, results and prescriptions.
  • Undertake home visits where clinically appropriate.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care.
  • Contribute to extended access services on a pro‑rate basis.

Support, Supervision and Development

  • Structured supervision and mentorship.
  • Dedicated education and supervision sessions built into the role.
  • Access to experienced GP Partners and Clinical Directors.
  • A network-wide MDT including pharmacists, ACPs, paramedics and care coordinators.
  • A culture of shared learning and clinical support.

About Central & South PCN

Central and South PCN is a collaborative network of 11 practices delivering care to a diverse population, with a shared workforce model and a focus on sustainable general practice.

Job responsibilities

  • Contract aligned to BMA model contract principles.
  • Up to 9 sessions per week (flexible depending on preference and service need).
  • Based at one, or a maximum of two practices only.
  • EMIS clinical system across all sites.
  • Fixed‑term ARRS role (subject to national funding), with ongoing review.

Person Specification

  • Be a newly qualified GP (within 2 years of CCT) eligible under ARRS.
  • Hold full GMC registration and licence to practise.
  • Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Be clinically safe, organised, and willing to learn.
  • Engage with supervision, feedback and development.
