Robson Vets is a welcoming, RCVS Tier 2-accredited small animal practice based in Laurencekirk, with a branch practice in the picturesque seaside town of Montrose. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse caseload‑including exotics‑while fostering a genuinely supportive and collaborative team environment. You’ll be joining an experienced clinical team with over 40 years of combined veterinary expertise, supported by a skilled and dedicated nursing and client care team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident vet who enjoys variety in their caseload, with the chance to take on sole charge responsibilities while always having support readily available. Practice Highlights
- RCVS Tier 2-accredited practice with a branch in Montrose
- Team of 3 experienced vets, 5 RVNs, plus SVNs, VCAs, and reception support
- Varied caseload including small animals and exotics
- Well-equipped with digital and dental radiography, ultrasound (including cardiac probe), cold laser, and endoscopy (rigid and flexible)
- Fully equipped in-house lab (biochemistry, haematology, urinalysis, cytology)
- Facilities include 2 operating theatres, dental suite, imaging room, and separate dog, cat, ICU, and isolation wards
- ISFM Cat Friendly Silver accredited, Positive Pawprint Partner, and PDSA Partner Practice
- Visiting orthopaedic surgeon and strong referral network
- Dedicated nursing team providing inpatient care, including overnight monitoring

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
- Work a 30-hour week across 3‑5 days, with a balanced mix of consulting and surgery
- Participate in a 1 in 4 weekend rota
- Provide 1 on-call night per week for inpatient care only (no full OOH requirement)
- Deliver high-quality clinical care across routine and more complex medical and surgical cases
- Build strong relationships with clients, providing clear communication and continuity of care
- Work collaboratively with the wider team, including nursing and support colleagues
- Contribute to a positive team culture and support the development of less experienced team members
- Engage in CPD and continuous clinical development, with support to pursue areas of interest
