We are looking for a highly skilled AI/LLM Engineer/Architect to lead the implementation of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions for a major client project in London. This is a hands-on contract role for someone who can build from the ground up - shaping the AI technology direction, ensuring robust architecture, and delivering secure, production-grade systems on AWS.
The Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of advanced AI capabilities, combining deep technical knowledge with strategic influence. You will steer the organisation's AI stack, define best practices, and ensure the delivery of scalable, cost-effective solutions.
What You Will Do
- Lead the design, build, and deployment of RAG solutions
- Drive Agentic development and intelligent automation
- Provide guidance on AI architecture and technology strategy
- Build and deploy scalable machine learning applications on AWS
- Apply ML Ops tooling and workflows for training, deployment, and monitoring
- Evaluate and compare multiple AI solutions to select the best fit
- Deliver secure, compliant solutions, mitigating both external and internal risks
- Define and champion best practices, ensuring a clear understanding of what good looks like for production AI systems
What You Will Bring
- Proven experience delivering RAG implementations in production environments
- Strong background in Agentic development and LLM system design
- Experience with MCP or similar model control frameworks
- Hands-on experience with ML Ops tooling and workflows (CI/CD, model lifecycle, monitoring)
- Deep understanding of security and governance in AI environments
- Advanced experience working with AWS infrastructure
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to advise senior stakeholders
