About the ATO: The ATO manages Australia’s tax and super systems to help build a better Australia by funding services and infrastructure such as schools and hospitals. Our graduates are empowered to think big, turn ideas into action and work together to deliver results that matter, like:

What you’ll do: Join the equation. As an economics graduate in our Taxation and Law stream, you’ll use your economic expertise to analyse complex tax and policy challenges, providing insights that support fair and effective decision‑making. You’ll analyse Australian and global economies, study economic trends and assist with key market research to deliver meaningful changes to the tax system. With a qualification in economics or a related discipline, the Taxation & Law stream is the perfect pathway to balance your future career. You could:

  • collect and interpret data from a variety of sources including financial statements and economic datasets.
  • undertake a range of analytical, procedural, operational and administrative activities and apply commonly used financial, econometric or economic analysis techniques
  • assist with economic research and analysis across various markets and topics to help provide a better understanding of taxpayer behaviour and environment.
