Rockley is thrilled to be offering an exciting opportunity to join our Catering Team at Buddens Activity Centre, in a General Kitchen Assistant role. As a General Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Chefs in preparing meals for up to 380 guests on a weekly basis. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The catering team are at the heart of the centre - ensuring a high standard of food preparation, providing nutritious food, and looking after clients.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Basic food preparation when required
- General cleaning to include washing up kitchen equipment, cleaning large and small equipment
- The regular brushing and mopping of floors, cleaning internal walls, sides, and ceilings
- Regular cleaning of the walk-in fridge
- Cleaning of extraction units
- A basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals - COSHH training available
- Helping to maintain the canteen restaurant
- Trying up of food under the direction of the chefs
- Serving food as and when required
Requirements
ESSENTIAL
- DBS Check (can be done in-house)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Eagerness to acquire new skills and thrive as part of a team
DESIRABLE
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals (COSHH training available)
- RYA Safe and Fun (or alternative safeguarding certificate)
- Previous experience in a catering environment
